We are attempting to teach Liam how to "self sooth" himself to sleep/back to sleep with his Neptune crib thing...attempt is the operative word here.
He's in his crib right now, tired & full of cereal, playing away. He's not crying or fussing just talking/screeching but not "soothing" himself in the least.
I plan on just leaving him there until he actually cries but I think that just happened. He lasted about 10 minutes before crying...I went up and did the Beatles Bounce with him and now it just seems like he wants to play even though he's totally ready for a nap. I gave him to Daddy, who of course, is still in bed. He'll just nap with him in bed for now.
Any suggestions or hints? We dont want to do Cry It Out since he doesnt cry to begin with why have him start doing something like that? And plus, I cannot stand the sound of a crying baby.
I asked Matias to look into the different sleep techniques but he didnt do anything but agree to not let him CIO so I think it's time we revisited that subject.

We didn't want to let Matthew cry it out either but we dug ourselves a hole because I ran to him every time he needed me (he usually geniunely wanted to nurse, I think...) but it was frustrating after awhile when he didn't want to nurse as much. We finally did the whole CIO thing. Not to the letter or anything but we did it and it has made nap time easier. You will start to see a pattern as he gets older. He is younger so his naps may be all over the place. Once they hit six-eight months things smooth out.
Also, I never read it, wasn't very interested in it but my gf used ideas the Baby Whisper book. At the end of the day, it is going to be about what you two are comfortable with. Just know that all mommies and daddies with kiddos have been through or are going through this! YOU'RE NOT ALONE!
