Liam has had a friend in his Mocha Kitty for quite a while now, it seems but his new favorite is a little blue bear that he calls Bill a Bill a Bah. Quite honestly though EVERY bear is a Bill a Bill a Bah and sometimes even random objects get blessed with his gibberish word, but bears of any kind, be it a panda bear, polar bear, teddy bear or koala bear always get called a Bill a Bill a Bah. He got his Bill a Bill a Bah from the flower arrangement that my parents sent me (and presumably Liam too) at the hospital when he was born. It's been in his basket of animals in his room since time began but late last week he took a liking to it.
Now he carries it around with him & hugs him, kisses him & shares his milk with him. Sometimes he even shares his goldfish! Yesterday when Liam didn't want to wear his socks, Bill a Bill a Bah wore them! He does the same with Mocha Kitty & I love watching him give his Mocha some milk. He will have nothing to do with the cabbage patch doll I brought from home for him (my original one!) but will "baby" Mocha Kitty & Bill a Bill a Bah!
Liam has never really been attached to any particular object (sans his pillow) so it's quite cute for me to (finally) watch him bond with something. Sure he loves certain toys & such but has never had a "lovey" (god how I hate that word) that he turns to in times of need. It appears that Mocha Kitty & Bill a Bill a Bah have stepped up to the plate though! Even his tiny stuffed LaLa has never garnered that much attention from me; which did surprise me.
So finally at 20 months old, Liam has found someone to love. And of course, it tickles me that what he chosen came from the day he was born from my parents. I know you cannot chose what your kid will latch onto - for example MY pillow - but it sure is nice when they do pick something of excellent pedigree.
