I signed Liam up for a 6 week session at our local Toddlin' Time (think Little Gym but WAY WAY WAY cheaper!) and then took him to the Open House this morning to see if he in fact would enjoy himself.
He did. He Fat Person Waddled around screaming almost the entire time when he wasn't actually playing with the toys and, of course, the speaker cord, door handles, speakers...
Then we proceeded to WIN a FREE SESSION! Since we already paid for the upcoming one, I'm going to hang onto it & use it for the winter session when I'm sure we will be out of the house a LOT since this little one LOVES to be outside (we have to spell it already...).
A few of the Mommies from my Mommies Group where there - Lisa with her little girl (same bday as Nathan) and Lauren with her mommy Julie - so that will be nice to be able to "connect" with them more. Lisa is one of my CM customers so I know her already but meeting other mommies is always good.
Thankfully, the class is between his breakfast & noni time so we rush home to jump into bed - hopefully for a nice long nap!
I really like the price of this place - under $50 for 6 weeks, where compared to Gymboree which is $70 a session with a minimum of 3 sessions (!) AND a registration fee...you really cannot beat this with a stick. Although, I hope beating things with sticks isn't part of their curriculum ;)

I love that you live in a real live city with cool things to do with your child. Seriously. B-town is boring in comparison. I like to hear about your adventures AND I love that you take so much initiative to get out and do things with Liam.
I like to think this is the way I would be if I was staying at home... I wish we lived closer - ohhhh play dates would be SO much fun!
Sheepishly, I have to say that a certain Dada would like it if I got out MORE with him, but with the humidity and fragile nap schedules, I'm guilty of just not doing it sometimes.
As much as I love having friends flung across the country, I hate that we miss out on doing things like this :( Like wouldn't you LOVE to just come over one day without having to buy a plane ticket?!?!
I'm not very good at having friends in this area so any contact with people is good for me (and Liam too). I seriously have like 1 friend here (hi kym!) and sometimes that's rough but it's sometimes actually one more friend than Matias has! Why cant we be small like Europe?!?!
I agree abt friends near and far. I am also finding it harder and harder to stay in touch with my friends who are flung across the country AND right next door (at least those who do not read my blog or use e-mail... and even e-mail is becoming an obsolete form of communication...)
We have made some new friends from YMCA swim classes with Matthew and through Matthew's day care but it is still hard to be all social like!
AND you get out way more then some SAHMs I know so that I love! By the time Liam is 2 it will be like a whole different world for you. The cutting back to one nap is actually a god send! It is hard to let go of that 1st morning nap but OMG it makes activities SO much easier!
Yes, I would like to come over without buying a plane ticket... I do wish I lived in an area like the Northeast/Mid Atlantic region where you do not have a drive a gazillion miles to visit someone who lives in the next state over though!
Now, I have two questions for you. I started my 1st scrap book pages tentatively. Kevin bought me this little kit a long time ago from Michael's. It is pretty "lame" as far as the cool scrap book stuff I have seen but it is a good starter. Do you have any suggested starter kits from CM?
Also, I saw a photo from Liam's 1st that had a cute name art thing (Liam Robert in curly letters) and I LOVE those. Do you know where I could me one of those?
Sorry for the long comment!!!
I'm going to email you :) But Nana can speak of where she got the sign (isn't it awesome?)!
The sign is awesome! I have wanted to get something like that for Matthew since he was born but could never really find anything as beautiful as that... And since I am in the LONG process of redoing Matthew's room it would be the perfect final addition (plus I would love to get one for baby #2 whenever we decide to get pregnant next year!!!)
Thanks Jen!
Psssst...I sent you an email but I'm thinking you aren't getting any of them for some reason! Can you let me know if you got it?
Also, as a side note, the sign says, along with his name, "always kiss me goodnight", which just melts my little tender-hearted Mama heart :)
Hey, I am NOT getting your e-mail.
chrisfishschmidt @ hotmail dot com right?
ok check your spam, I resent an email! What's weird is you are not even getting responses to emails I sent! I haven't been ignoring you :(
